You own your code.
Your accounts.
Everything.
Most platforms sell you a website on their infrastructure. When you stop paying, the site goes dark. FabBuilds builds your site on your accounts, in your GitHub repo, deployed to your Vercel project. We hand it over at launch and walk away with nothing you can't audit, revoke, or hand to another developer.
This page explains exactly what you receive at handover, how each transfer works, and what your real ongoing costs are after launch.
WHAT YOU RECEIVE AT HANDOVER
Six things that are yours on Day 10.
Full source code
Your complete Next.js (or React Native) codebase pushed to a private GitHub repository under your personal or organization account. Every component, every config file, every line, yours.
Hosting account
Your site deploys to Vercel under your own Vercel account. We set it up for you, connect your domain, and configure environment variables, then hand you the keys.
Domain & DNS
Your domain stays in your registrar (Namecheap, GoDaddy, Google Domains, etc.) pointed at your Vercel project. We help you configure DNS. No middleman controls your URL.
CMS & content
If your project includes a CMS (Sanity, Contentful, or a headless Notion setup), the workspace is created under your email. Every piece of content you entered is yours to keep and edit.
Third-party integrations
Stripe, Calendly, Mailchimp, ConvertKit, ActiveCampaign, HubSpot, all accounts are set up under your credentials. We never hold API keys you cannot rotate or revoke.
Design files
Your Figma file (or equivalent) with all screens, components, and exported assets is transferred to your Figma account at handover. Design system included.
HOW THE HANDOVER WORKS
Day 10: everything transfers in one session.
We do not drip out access over weeks. On launch day, every account, every repo, every credential moves in a single handover session. Here is the exact sequence.
Staging approval
You review the live staging URL and approve the build. Once approved, we move to launch.
GitHub transfer
We push the final commit and transfer the private repository to your GitHub account (or invite you as owner to the org repo).
Vercel project transfer
We transfer the Vercel project to your account. You add a payment method for hosting, Vercel's Hobby tier is free for most sites. Pro is $20/mo if you need team seats.
Domain cutover
We update your DNS records to point your domain at your Vercel project. This takes 15–60 minutes. Your old site stays up until propagation completes.
Credentials document
We deliver a secure handover doc listing every account, API key, env variable, and integration used, with instructions for rotating or revoking anything.
Walkthrough call
A 30-minute Loom or live call where we walk you through your new CMS (if included), how to push a Vercel deploy, and how to update content without touching code.
THE REAL MATH
What you actually spend after launch.
Compare this against Wix ($23–$159/mo), Squarespace ($23–$65/mo), or Webflow ($14–$235/mo), all of which hold your site hostage the moment you stop paying.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Ownership, the honest answers.
What if I want to hire a different developer later?
Hand them the GitHub link and Vercel credentials. Any competent Next.js developer can open your repo and continue from where we left off. There is no proprietary platform, no custom CMS lock, no undocumented build system.
What are the ongoing costs after launch?
Vercel Hobby is free. Vercel Pro is $20/mo. Your domain renewal is whatever your registrar charges (~$15/yr). If you added a paid CMS or email service (ConvertKit, etc.), those are billed directly by the vendor, not through us.
Do you keep a copy of my code?
We remove our collaborator access from your Vercel project and GitHub repo after handover unless you are on a retainer. We do not maintain copies of your site.
What about my analytics and tracking?
Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and any pixels are set up under your Google account. We connect them during the build but never hold admin access you cannot revoke.
What if I want to move off Vercel?
Your Next.js project runs on any host that supports Node.js: Railway, Render, Fly.io, AWS Amplify, or a raw VPS. The code has zero Vercel-specific lock-in beyond their deployment config, which any developer can swap out in under an hour.
Is there a transfer fee?
No. Account and code ownership transfer is included in every project at no extra cost. It is not an add-on. It is the standard.
Your site. Your code.
Your call.
Custom sites start at $500. Live in 10 days. Full handover on launch day, no subscriptions, no platform fees, no lock-in.
