What is Email Automation?

Email automation is a system that sends pre-written emails to contacts automatically based on triggers, like filling out a form, booking a call, or making a purchase. It keeps leads engaged and moves them toward a decision without requiring manual follow-up every time.

Email automation removes the manual follow-up problem. Without it, every lead who fills out your form requires you to personally respond, follow up if they go quiet, send them the information they asked for, and remember to check back in two weeks. With automation, all of that happens on a schedule without your involvement.

A simple automation sequence for a service business might work like this: someone fills out a contact form on your website → they receive an immediate confirmation email explaining what happens next → 24 hours later, they receive a follow-up email with a link to book a call → 72 hours later, if they have not booked, they receive an email with social proof (a testimonial or case study relevant to their industry) → one week later, a final follow-up asking if they have questions.

Each integrates with website forms through tools like Zapier or direct API connections.
